Greetings to you reader! First off, thank you so much for stopping by and visiting my site. I’m so excited to be on this new journey as a fledgling author again! 

After a longish hiatus from the online world, and a long trial period into professionally editing and polishing one of my manuscripts for pitching (which was a blast!) I’m happy to say that I’m going to be writing more, coming back to blogging and creating new forms of exciting content for you all.

So what’s the deal with the new site, you might be thinking? What’s in it for you and what’s all this fuss about ‘joining the Haven‘?

The Motivation Behind My Website

Since my return to writing consistently in early 2021, I have been busy putting together the foundations for my author website as well as working toward polishing my manuscript for The Closer and working on several other projects.

The very first draft of The Closer is available to read on Wattpad and recently hit 4 million reads! 

When it comes to motivation, there are three things that really drive me:

• the desire to learn new skills and improve my writing
• the hopes of connecting with my readers
• the dream of becoming a traditionally published author.

It’s a combination of all three that led me to build this website. I wanted to have my own ‘online real estate’ to showcase my work, show agents that I pitch to that I’m serious about my craft, connect with readers in more innovative ways and own a space that is truly mine – much like many other successful authors have done.

Some people have assumed that anyone who writes professionally or for a living must be rolling in moolah because they only see the end product — the books that get published. That isn’t always true and even then, people rarely show what happens behind the curtains to get them to the “published author” bit.

That’s exactly what motivated me to create this site.

What is the Website About?

Beyond just being an author website, I wanted to create a safe space for both readers and writers to convene and this website is representative of that vision.

It’s hard to believe that seven months ago, I was sitting on my bed in my PJs brainstorming how to create this website. I had no clue what it was going to look like or how I would get people to take it seriously. Then, I realized that it doesn’t have to be taken seriously by everyone that comes across it but only the intended audience it can truly make an impact on. And the best way to do that is to combine content and interactivity.

This website is a platform to explore the art of writing and its power to change lives. The idea behind the website is to provide fans with unique content that will help them understand my vision as an artist, go beyond the pages of my books, and in the long run work toward creating a community where both readers and writers can become inspired by each other.

My hope is that the site can be used as a gateway to building a community that understands art and what it means to be human. I invite everyone interested to become a part of that shared journey on my Ko-Fi page.

New Projects on the Horizon

I am a novelist, poet, traveler, and singer. I love art and delve into its’ several facets but what I’m best at is telling stories.

Sometimes that means writing a book, but other times it means writing a song or a poem, or simply posting a video sharing my thoughts. My website serves as a window into the many things I do and plan to do. This includes:

• My novels
• My publishing journey
• My visual poetry on Instagram
• My upcoming YouTube channel
• Future episodic release-based web projects
• The parts of my humanity that manifest in the art I create (things get personal sometimes)
• & more!

My Ko-Fi page is a place where people who enjoy my work can directly support me with a few dollars each month or at their own leisure. Over time, I plan to launch a membership-based community (the Haven that you all keep hearing about) that gets exclusive insights into my upcoming novels, Behind The Scenes, member goodies, and more! 

Of course, I will also be featuring other authors and artists of different genres on my website over time because we’re all in this together!

There is a lot on this site, but if you look around, you’ll find lots of interesting stuff that will help give you a feel for my work, myself, and what we can do together.

What’s Next for You, the Reader?

Readers are sometimes herded like cattle who buy a book and then disappear into the ether. I want to change that experience. My goal is to create a place where people can discuss the stories they love with the artists they support who share their own work with each other in a positive environment full of support and encouragement.

This site will serve as a meeting place for me to interact with people from different countries around the globe that are interested in what I, and over time other aspiring authors, also have to offer.
